Mahashivaratri is known as the “great night of Shiva”—the night sacred to Lord Shiva. On this Siddha Yoga holiday, Siddha Yoga students repeat Lord Shiva's name in the form of the mantra om namah shivaya. It is said that on Mahashivaratri, a single repetition of Shiva’s name and the benefits of worship performed on this night are multiplied a thousandfold.

Mahashivaratri is observed in Siddha Yoga ashrams, Siddha Yoga meditation centers, and Siddha Yoga chanting and meditation groups with a Celebration Satsang.

Mahashivaratri will be celebrated in Los Angeles on Saturday, February 18 at 7:30  PM.
